Officials in Jordan and Turkey are in talks to launch a new shipping line.
The service would link Aqaba to a number of Turkish ports, Ammon News said.
Jordan’s minister of transport, Yahia al-Kesbi, said the government was “adamant” about opening the route.
He added that major steps have been taken to make it a reality.
A government committee has already been set up to negotiate the issue with the Turkish side.
