An Indian car carrier has headed for breaking beaches after a coastal route proved untenable.
The Business Line daily said Symex Maritime's 300-ceu IDM Symex (built 1988) failed to secure enough traffic between Chennai and Pipavav.
Owner Mandeep Tiwana told the newspaper that manufacturers preferred transporting cars by road.
TradeWinds reported in May that Indian operators had begun lobbying the government for help so they could scale up operations and reduce costs on car shipping routes.
