BG Freight Line hires four feederships

Subsidiary of Peel Ports Group enters long-term pact for vessels ordered by Jungerhans in February.

BG Freight Line has taken four boxships ordered by Jungerhans on long-term charter.

The Peel Ports Group-controlled company plans to use the feederships in order to optimize its Irish services.

It said the sister vessels will be immediately chartered after delivery from Zhoushan Changong International Shipyard and are expected to enter service during 2018.

Koert Luitwieler, chief executive of BG Freight Line, explained to TradeWinds the vessels are actually designed for the company so they are ordered "on demand" and chartered "very long term".
