Matson Navigation Co has ordered two con-ro newbuildings at General Dynamics NASSCO for a total cost of $511m.
Destined to be deployed on the US operator’s Hawaii operation, the vessels will be delivered at the end of 2019 and mid-year 2020.
The 3,500-teu Kanaloa Class vessels will be 265 meters in length, 34.9 meters wide, with a deep draft of 11.5 meters and enclosed garage space for up to 800 vehicles.
