A Zodiac Maritime affiliate has filed a third US lawsuit against Hanjin Shipping in its efforts to collect unpaid charter hire.

Montemp Maritime filed the asset-seizure case in the federal court in Sacramento, California, targeting $1.69m.

The company is the registered owner of Zodiac’s 3,670-teu Hanjin Louisiana (built 2013), whose charter hire has allegedly gone unpaid since 30 June.

As TradeWinds has reported, the company has also filed two asset-seizure lawsuits in Los Angeles and Baltimore since South Korean ship operator Hanjin filed for court restructuring Wednesday.
