Philippines fabrication yard Atlantic Gulf & Pacific, better known as AG&P, has been awarded a US$152 million construction contract for the Ichthys LNG project in Australia (illustrated).

The three-year job involves the modular fabrication of local electrical and instrumentation rooms with a total weight of more than 17,000 tonnes, said AG&P.

“This contract illustrates the construction industry’s readiness and need to develop more comprehensive and complete modules, no longer just steel and pipe but fully outfitted with complex electrical and instrumentation systems installed and tested prior to shipment,” said AG&P chairman Joseph Sigelman.
