Norwegian owner Dof has used one its Brazilian-built pipe-laying support vessels (PLSVs) to seize a large Petrobras contract from competitor Subsea 7, say analysts.

On the same day that Subsea 7 revealed the early termination for its ship, Oslo-listed Dof announced that its 142-metre Skandi Vitoria (built 2010) won 532 days of work on a PLSV charter with Petrobras.

Oslo-listed contractor Subsea 7 blamed domestic “blocking”, without naming the DOF vessel, for the early termination of the PLSV contract on its 144-meter Seven Mar (built 2001).
