Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries has agreed to delay the delivery of a drillship by two years.

The vessel, which was ordered in June 2013 for KRW 632.4bn ($541bn), will be handed over at the end of March 2019.

As a result, the yard requires an early payment of $234m, it said.

It said the owner is a European company.

UK-based company Ensco later said it had delayed a vessel, DS-10, at the yard.
