Basili takes Shearwater job permanently

GC Rieber CEO quits to run geophysical joint venture with Rasmussengruppen.

GC Rieber Shipping CEO Irene Waage Basili is quitting to run geophysical spin-off Shearwater Geoservices.

She left Rieber in November to temporarily take charge of the Rasmussengruppen joint venture.

Basili will officially leave Rieber on 1 April after being offered the Shearwater job on a permanent basis.

"The board of GC Rieber Shipping would like to thank Irene Waage Basili for solid contributions during her six years at the helm of GC Rieber Shipping. We wish her good luck with new responsibilities and we are very pleased that she will continue to work in Shearwater and thus will still be in close contact with GC Rieber Shipping," said Rieber chairman Paul Christian Rieber.

The owner will now initiate a "thorough and broad process" to recruit a successor.

Einar Ytredal will continue as interim CEO in the meantime.
