UK shipping group James Fisher has boosted its windfarm operations with the acquisition of a turbine repair and inspection firm.

Rotos 360 is costing it £1.5m ($1.86m) in cash initially, with a potential further payment of up to £5m subject to profit targets for the three years to the end of 2019.

Fisher said Rotos 360 works mainly in the offshore sector and was established in 2013 as part of a UK government-funded research project to reduce the cost of operation and maintenance of turbines.
