Offshore term-charter activity so far this year has more than doubled in the North Sea, compared with the first four months of 2016, but the improvement comes as more ships are being brought out of layup.

North Sea offshore support vessels (OSVs) found 31 long-term contracts from January to April, up from 14 contracts in the same period of 2016, according to data from Westshore Shipbrokers.
