A platform supply vessel (PSV) crew has deterred a pirate attack off Indonesia.
The unnamed ship was underway on 16 May about 26 miles from Kepulauan Talaud when it was approached by a small speed boat, the IMB's piracy reporting centre said.
This craft closed to approximately 30 metres.
The alarm was raised and the crew mustered. They began to prepare the fire hoses, but the boat aborted the attack and headed away.
