Gibraltar's Gibdock is preparing a Solstad contstruction service vessel (CSV) to meet Australian biofouling standards.

The 4,750-dwt Normand Reach (built 2014) entered the yard for a "special wash and brush up" on its way to western Australia to work on the Ichthys gas field development project, the shiprepairer said.

The 11-day work included hull-washing, blasting and antifouling coating.

“The internal surfaces of sea chests, for example need to be painted with antifouling coatings that are suitable for the flow conditions of seawater through the chest,” said Gibdock ship manager Filip Tsankov.
