Dutch owner Wagenborg Offshore has won a five-year deal for a multipurpose ship.
Fathom Marine has chartered the 675-dwt Arcticaborg (built 1998) to provide support in the western Canadian Arctic.
The contract starts mid-July and the ship will work from Vancouver.
It will carry out ice-breaking support, ice navigation assistance, fuel supply, salvage and cargo runs.
Arcticaborg was previously active in the Caspian Sea, which is characterised by shallow waters and severe ice conditions.
