Middle East seismic survey vessel company Polarcus has clinched fresh work in West Africa.

The 3D data acquisition contract will begin early in the fourth quarter for a month.

Richard Price, the company's senior vice president for the western hemisphere, said the deal's timing aligns very well with completion of the North Sea season.

"With only a short transit, this enables us to optimize vessel utilisation and strategically position a vessel in West Africa for follow on work."
