Newly merged SolstadFarstad has announced its first big term charter in a deal with Statoil.
The company, formed last week when Solstad Offshore combined with Farstad Shipping and Deep Sea Supply, said its 5,000-dwt platform supply vessel (PSV) Far Searcher (built 2008) will work for the Norwegian major over five years.
It will support the Statoil PSV pool at the Norwegian continental shelf, starting in September.
