Netherlands-based subsea contractor Fugro will use its 92-metre Rem Etive (built 2007) to install 15 kilometres (nine miles) of new power cable off Australia.

The multipurpose support vessel, which Fugro purchased in February from Oslo-listed SolstadFarstad, will carry out installation and commissioning from the fourth quarter of this year for completion by mid-2018.

No contract value has been revealed for the deal with SA Power Networks in South Australia.
