Kim Heng Marine & Oilfield surprised the offshore sector in June when it revealed it had bought three modern anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels at auction.
Although the company is a long-time player in the Singaporean offshore sector as an operator and owner of small vessels and a shipyard, the purchase marked the first time it had moved into ownership of larger ships capable of operating in the deepwater space.
