US offshore luminary Larry Rigdon has come full circle with Tidewater now that he is, at least temporarily, taking on the role he sought 15 years ago.

Rigdon, who has nearly four decades in the sector, has been named interim chief executive and president of the world’s largest offshore vessel owner after the retirement of Jeff Platt this week.

Platt, with 21 years at the US-listed company, is stepping down after shepherding it through a gruelling restructuring and emergence from voluntary bankruptcy protection.
