All 16 seafarers were saved after their anchor-handler sank off Mumbai on Tuesday evening.

Shipping Corp of India's 81-bp SCI Ratna (built 2011) went down while on contract to ONGC to support oil exploration activities.

“All the 16 crew members on board SCI Ratna have been rescued,” director general of shipping Malini Shankar told the PTI news agency.

SCI managing director Anoop Sharma told local media all the crew members were immediately rescued by another vessel which was working close by.
