Tidewater is not seeing an overall push by clients to go for term charters, according to chief operating officer Jeff Gorski.

Charterers moving from short-term to longer-term coverage is often taken as a sign of a shift in sentiment, as clients seek to tie up cheap ships.

Tidewater has seen requests for longer-term contracts but these are often associated with areas where the client already has large offshore investments, Gorski said during the fourth-quarter results call.
