John Fredriksen is now in a position to dedicate more time to his other activities after the restructuring of Seadrill, which he said has been “the worst nightmare in my 57 years in business”.

The tycoon opened up on the process after 99.8% of Seadrill’s creditors approved its latest refinancing plan this week.

A total of 530 creditors — all but one of those involved in the process — agreed to the Chapter 11 scheme of reorganisation at the US bankruptcy court in the southern district of Texas.
