Mermaid Maritime came back to the negative side of the ledger amid lower vessel utilisation.
The Chalermchai Mahagitsiri-led company reported net loss of $7.7m for the second quarter versus $3.62m a year earlier.
Its subsea group saw a $3.2m loss on $21.5m in revenue, compared to a $9.3m profit on $44.5m.
The drilling group posted no income and gross profits for the three months ended 30 June, in line with the year-ago period.
