Prosafe pens new deals

Semi-submersible accommodation rig operator Prosafe has kicked off 2013 with a batch of fresh contracts worth over $130m.

The Oslo-listed company bagged a deal with BG International for the Safe Bristolia in the UK sector of the North Sea.

The unit will be deployed at the Everest Platform for 197 days from April of both 2014 and 2015 .

Total value of the deal is around $119.3m.

Norwegian oil firm Statoil has extended the Regalia for one month next year at a cost of $9.3m.

The company still has three one-month options in hand though they are subject to availability of the rig.  

And BP Norway will keep the Safe Scandinavia at Valhall for an extra seven days until 7 February for $2.1m.

Prosafe had rig utilisation of 82% in the final quarter of last year.
