The Oslo-listed owner confirmed that its 290-tbp Siem Garnet (built 2010) will be put into warm lay-up for a ‘short period’ when it completes a spell in dry dock.
Dagfinn Lie, chief financial officer, said the move was prompted by a soft market caused by an oversupply of vessels.
And he said he would welcome if other offshore vessel owners were to follow suit.
