The slippery customer was spotted on the Maersk Discoverer by quick-thinking crew who managed to take a few snaps, the company’s blog Maersk Stories reported.
And this thing was no tiddler either but what looked like a giant python or constrictor.
Ironically the incident occurred just as the world heralded the Chinese Year of the Snake.
Not only that but 2013 just happens to be the Year of the WATER Snake, which last came around 60 years ago!
Maersk Drilling will be hoping that one of the characteristics of Water Snakes - that they are lucky with finances and always seem to have money flowing their way – turns out to be true.
