The world’s largest shipbuilder will pocket $755m to build aharsh environment unit for New York-listed Diamond Offshore Drilling fordelivery in November 2015.
It means HHI is continuing the momentum seen during the first four months of the year when it more than doubled its order tally to $10.5bn compared to the same period of 2012.
The latest contract is backed by a three-year charter withoil giant BP who will operate the rig off the coast of South Australia.
