The logo and address of Vroon Offshore Services (VOS) in Aberdeen has been co-opted by the mysterious crooks, it said.
This outfit has been contacting seafarers offering recruitment, visa and immigration-clearing services.
Vroon stressed it never charges for these processes.
"All seafarers interested in employment with a Vroon company should ensure any contact is made directly with a bona-fide Vroon office," it added.
