The New York-listed company penned a preliminary deal withan unnamed oil firm to take the Ocean Rig Skyros when it hits the water inOctober.
Ocean Rig will pocket an estimated $190m for the deal whichruns for a minimum of 275 days for work off West Africa.
The contract takes its contract backlog to the $5bn mark.
Ocean Rig has four Samsung Heavy Industries-built ultradeepwater drillships in the water and four more under construction by the samecompany.
