The Danish giant has ordered an ultra harsh environment unit at DaewooShipbuilding and Marine Engineering in a $650m deal.
Thisis Maersk’s first rig order placed with Daewoo. It had previously ordered threesimilar units at Keppel FELS in Singapore.
Thislatest contract, which was announced Wednesday, said delivery of thenewbuilding will take place in mid-2016.
Maersksaid the deal with Daewoo includes priced options for delivery of up to twoadditional units with delivery in 2016/2017.
