TheOslo-listed shipowner is building two 158-metre well-intervention vessels atGermany’s Flensburger shipyard for seven-year charters to US-listed HelixEnergy, which in turn has a four-year agreement with Petrobras forwell-intervention services to start in 2016.

The marinepart of the time charter could be around $110,000 per day and the charteroptions extending to 22 years mean financing should be highly likely, sayanalysts.

With aproject cost of $420m, Siem Offshore will own the two vessels, while Helix willprovide topsides and manage the integration of the specialist equipment intothe units, which are designed by Norwegian newcomer Salt Ship Design.
