The Norwegian oil giant has exercised an option on the 210-tbp anchor handling tug supply vessel Havila Mars (built 2007) for another year starting in June, Havila said in a statement.

Statoil will also continue to charter the 4,000-dwt PSV Havila Clipper (built 2011) for three more months from March.

The new deal comes with with three monthly options from June.

Njal Saevik-led Havila did not reveal charter rates for the contracts except to say they had been done at ‘market terms’.

Brokers tell TradeWinds that the option on the Havila Mars is believed price at around NOK 230,000 daily.

The going rate for the Havila Clipper for a contract of that length is around NOK 210,000 per day, market sources say.
