The US offshore vessel owner said it paid $30.9m for the 3,105-dwt Highland Duke (built 2012).

GulfMark had previously been manager of the vessel for its prior owner, Fratelli D’Amato of Italy.

The unit, which has dynamic positioning 2 capabilities, operates on the UK side of the North Sea market.

“We continue to search for well-appointed, well-constructed, secondary market vessels at good prices, and likewise to dispose of older, non-core vessels when the market presents us with solid opportunities to do so,” said chief executive Quintin Kneen during an earnings briefing.
