DBB fixes out newbuild

Denmark’s DBB Jack-Up has won a three-year charter for a windfarm service vessel being built at Nordic Yards.

Siemens will use the vessel for wind power projects across northern Europe.

DBB CEO Thorsten Jalk said the deal marked a new approach to maintenance of offshore wind operations.

“There are significant savings to be made from having a service strategy based on being prepared ahead of time for fast mobilisation. This is especially important as more and more wind turbines are installed in increasingly challenging conditions,” he added.

The Wind Server vessel will be delivered from Germany in 2016.
