Non-US companies competing in American waters must not be controlled by a board made up of a majority of US citizens, it said.
Robert Long and Allen Stevens have therefore agreed to stand down, leaving just one US director.
Both joined the board in January 2011 but will remain members of the company’s compensation committee.
