Part of the job involves a yard project in Aracruz, Brazil, for Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (EJA), a subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine’s Jurong Shipyard in Singapore.
Van Oord will shift 6m cbm of material for the yard using a large cutter suction dredger.
The Brazilian project will be completed in late 2014.
The rest of the contract is for the upgrade of three ports in the Bahamas.
