Petrobras takes AHTS

A leading offshore contractor has lined up a lengthy time charter for one of its anchor-handlers.

In a regulatory filing Farstad Shipping said the 12,240-hp BOS Topazio (built 2005) has gone to Brazilian energy giant Petrobras for four years.

The contract, which includes a four-year option, is worth approximately NOK 375m ($60.8m), the Oslo-listed operator told investors Monday.

Farstad is based in Aalesund, Norway where it oversees a fleet of 62 vessels. The total includes 32 anchor-handlers and 27 platform-supply vessels.

Of these, regulatory filings indicate that more than a dozen are active in South America.

In addition to its Norwegian headquarters Farstad boasts offices in Aberdeen, Melbourne, Perth, Singapore, Macae and Rio de Janeiro.
