It said the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) had exercised a one-year option – its second - for the  bareboat charter of the 75-bp vessel (built 1995) from August 2015.

The ship has been chartered to BAS since 1999.

There are another three annual extension options attached to the charter.

The shipowner posted a net profit of NOK 44m ($7.1m) in the second quarter of 2014, compared to a loss of NOK 6m in the corresponding quarter.
