The offshore shipping giant said net earnings to 30 September were $206m, up from $160m in the same period of 2013.

Revenue grew to $1.9bn from $1.56bn.

It put the improvement down to high utilisation of its fleet of ships operating in Brazil.

And projected losses from its Guara-Lula NE project were cut by $40m.

Global vessel utilisation was strong at 91%, said CEO Jean Cahuzac, up 5% year-on-year.
