His Snow Capital Management has amassed a 6.3% slice of the company, an SEC filing said.
Based on the present share price of the company, his 3,138,540 shares are worth around $117m.
Snow joins the likes of The Vanguard Group and Franklin Resources as known investors in Tidewater.
Last week Tidewater reported a quarterly profit of $60.9m or $1.22 per share, up from $54.2m or $1.09 per share last year.
Revenue for the quarter grew to $397.52m from $367.94m in the same quarter last year, while costs grew 10.6% to $312.8m.
