It has ended the charter of the Stena Carron (built 2008) two years early after a disappointing drilling campaign.
The drillship has just completed work on the Statoil-operated blocks 38 and 39 in the Kwanza basin offshore Angola.
Statoil said the costs of terminating the operations and associated services will be expensed in fourth quarter of 2014.
