It said the price for the 1991-built Geco Triton included full payment of the remaining charter hire until December 2015.
The vessel, which is the oldest in the company’s fleet, is leased to Western Geco.
Oslo-listed Ocean Yield said the current book value of the vessel is about $12m.
It added that net cash proceeds will be equal to the sales price since the vessel carries no debt.
