Murphy Sabah Oil has hired the 20,000-hp Normand Ivan (built 2002) for one year firm, plus a 12-month option.
The anchor handler has been working for Murphy Sabah since 2004 and will be deployed to support deepwater operations in southeast Asia.
Solstad did not disclose the commercial terms of the deal citing confidentiality policy.
Its AHTSs booked utilisation of 77% during the fourth quarter of 2014, while the annual figure stood at 80%.
