The Indonesian coast guard has detained the captain of a Singaporean tug for allegedly entering its waters without the proper permits.
The 289-dwt ASL Glory (built 1997) and its accompanying barge were held off Batam on Sunday, it emerged this week.
The Straits Times said the vessels were spotted sailing towards Singapore near Batam's Tanjung Uncang.
Eight crew members, one of them a Singaporean, were detained and later released, but the Indonesian captain was not.
