The 11,400-dwt pipe-layer (PLSV) Seven Seas (built 2008) will install flexible lines for Petrobras on a day-rate basis.

It has been working for the Brazilian producer since 2013.

The ship can operate in water depths up to 3,000 metres and is equipped with an advanced flexible pipe-lay system with a top tension capacity of 430 tonnes.

Subsea 7's senior vice president for Brazil, Victor Bomfim, said: "This new contract for Seven Seas maintains our solid presence in the market for PLSVs in Brazil."
