The Nordic American Tanker spin-off said it had agreed a deal with Norway’s Vard Aukra shipyard to push back hand-overs from mid-2015 to the first quarter of 2016.

It added: “The vessels are fully financed and the manufacturing process is developing satisfactorily.”

The North Sea spot market is anything but satisfactory, however, with rates for cargo runs dropping as low as £2,500 per day last week.

The
