Seoul-listed Samsung told investors today that a contract for two drillships signed at KRW 1.3 trillion last April has been revised.
Samsung says the price has been raised to KRW 1.4 trillion as part of an agreement that sees the initial June 2017 delivery slots shifted to January 2019.
While Samsung does not identify Economou’s Ocean Rig by name, it says the redrawn contract was first signed in April last year and data from Clarksons shows that the Ocean Rig vessels are the only ones in the yard’s orderbook placed at that time.
