And Siem Offshore, which had previously ruled out lay-ups, finally decided to remove an anchor handler.

Idar Hillersoy, chief executive of Siem Offshore OSV, told TradeWinds: “Further vessel lay-ups are evaluated on a weekly basis.

“Vessel lay-up is something that all owners are trying to avoid but under the prevailing tough market conditions, laying-up ships is a real alternative to operating below operating cost.”
