Oslo-listed Polarcus has clinched a new seismic survey contract in Australia.
The Middle East owner said the multi-client project covers the Vulcan sub-basin off the North West shelf.
It is teaming up with investors Spectrum and DownUnder GeoSolutions, supported by "industry funding", it added.
The survey will comprise a minimum 4,000 square kilometres over a "proven hydrocarbon province".
The area has presented survey problems due to the thick late cretaceous-tertiary carbonates.
