Houston-based Oceaneering International has said BP has exercised its right to cancel a vessel charter in Angola.

The company said the 7,000-dwt offshore support ship Bourbon Oceanteam 101 (built 2007) will finish off Africa at the end of May.

The deal was scheduled to last until January 2017, but Oceaneering will now return the ship to its owner, Oceanteam of Norway.

"Under the terms of the contract, the costs incurred by Oceaneering associated with the early release and demobilisation of the vessel are expected to be reimbursed by BP," it said.
